Scaled Agile, Inc. (SAI) Digital Badging Policy

Policy Definitions

Digital badge: a digital achievement that shows the learner has demonstrated knowledge, skills, and/or abilities through various learning activities. Each digital badge is reliable and verifiable through our vendor, Credly.

Learner: an individual who has acquired a digital badge through SAI.

Policy Purpose

1. The purpose of this policy is to protect digital badging at SAI for approved partners and enterprises to increase the visibility and marketability of SAI learners, their knowledge, skills, and abilities while also providing partners with the ability to market our products through an approved method that ensures our brand policy is adhered to.

2. The secondary purpose of this policy is to provide clear guidelines to all learners who earn a digital badge through SAI so that the validity and reliability of each digital badge remain intact. This enables future learners and our SAFe and AI-Native Community to continue to see the value in our digital badges.

Usage Restrictions

SAI has exclusive rights to its registered trademarks "Scaled Agile Framework" and "SAFe". In addition, all SAI content is protected by US & International copyright laws and may not be copied, modified to create derivative works, or distributed without permission from SAI. This includes the names of each course and their corresponding badge.

SAI is legally obligated to protect its trademarks and copyrighted content and is diligent in consistently enforcing its rights. SAI always requires trademarks to be marked with the registered symbol ® paired with an attribution statement indicating that the trademarks are owned by SAI (see below).

Upon issuance of a badge, the learner controls the digital badge elements associated with their Credly account, which is in conjunction with their SalesForce account through SAI. These elements include their profile, sharing via social media-connected accounts, and any elements placed inside their accounts. SAI upholds the right to terminate and revoke a digital badge at any time.

Permission Required

No SAI trademark may be used in any digital badge without prior review by and express permission from SAI. Requests should be submitted via SAI Permissions using the Permissions Form, and the proposed digital badge and description of skills to earn it should be included. Such exceptions will be reviewed and potentially approved on a case-by-case basis. Organizations interested in obtaining an exception must submit a formal request detailing the intended use of the intellectual property (IP) and assurances of compliance with SAI's IP usage guidelines.

SAI Issued Digital Badges

SAI-registered trademarks ("Scaled Agile Framework" or "SAFe") must be marked with the ® in a superscript font in the SAFe digital badge logo design, heading, and description. The description must also include the attribution: "SAFe and Scaled Agile Framework are registered trademarks of Scaled Agile, Inc." For AI-Native digital badges, the SAI brand name "AI-Native" needs to be included at all times.

Violation of Digital Badge Policy and Non-compliance

Your violation of this Agreement may result in the loss of your SAI Certification(s)/digital badge(s), a suspension or permanent ban from the Certification Program and Studio, and additional legal ramifications. SAI upholds the right to terminate and revoke a digital badge at any time.
